Who we are

Porter-Gaud School is a coeducational, independent, college preparatory day school with historic ties to the Episcopal Church. The campus is located on 70 prime acres on the Charleston harbor.

The school strives to create an environment that nurtures and protects what we value most in our children.

Six colleges and universities, including the Medical University of South Carolina, are located in the Charleston area. The school emphasizes traditional studies and expects its students to develop competence in English, mathematics, history, science, a foreign language, technology, and the fine arts. Students benefit from the skills of our extraordinary faculty and a 15:1 student-faculty ratio. In addition to academic excellence, we are dedicated to providing a sound athletic, artistic, and spiritual environment.
