Three named to Board of Trustees

Three area residents have been elected to serve on the Porter-Gaud School Board of Trustees, Interim Head of School Elizabeth Lee announced today. They are June J. Bradham, Paul M. Lynch, and H. Chapman (Chappy) McKay. The new members bring with them backgrounds in banking, institutional advancement, business, and law.

June Brandham, the founder, owner, and president of Corporate DevelopMint, has spent the last 20 years helping non-profits reach their financial and organizational goals. Currently, she serves on a number of boards including the Executive Committees of the South Carolina State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Lowcountry Chapter’s Board of Directors, the South Carolina Governor’s School of Math and Science Board of Directors, The Citadel School of Business Administration Advisory Committee, and the Columbia College Board of Trustees. She is a graduate of Columbia College.

Paul Lynch is Managing Partner of the Charleston office of Moore & Van Allen PLLC. He is a 1980 graduate of Porter-Gaud School and a Porter-Gaud parent. He graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Accounting, and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina, and an LLM. in Taxation from the Emory School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, he is the treasurer of Synagogue Emanu-El, and serves on the boards of the Coastal Community Foundation and the Hebrew Benevolent Society of Charleston, and current trustee of the Henry and Sylvia Yaschik Foundation. He is also a past treasurer for the Porter-Gaud Alumni Association. Paul and his wife, Suzanne, have two children, Scott and David. David is a rising fourth grader at Porter-Gaud and Scott is a rising seventh grader at Addlestone Hebrew Academy.

Chappy McKay is the Director of Business Development for Trident Construction. He is a Charleston native who earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston. Chappy serves as an elected Commissioner and Secretary/Treasurer for the Mt. Pleasant Waterworks. He is incoming president of the College of Charleston Alumni Association, a former board member of the Charleston Rotary Club, and an active member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. Also, he has served for two years on the Porter-Gaud Development Committee, as the New Parent’s Captain and as a Class Captain. He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Ellis, a first grader at Porter-Gaud, and Maggie, who is a student at the O’Quinn School in Mt. Pleasant.
