MATHCOUNTS Team Advances to State Competition

On Friday, February 17th the MATHCOUNTS Chapter Competition was held at Mark Clark Hall on the campus of The Citadel. More than 100 students took part in the event, representing more than 20 schools, both public and private. Each middle school was allowed to enter one team of 4 participants, as well other students who were allowed to compete individually. The Top 4 teams and the Top 4 individuals were announced. Only the Top 2 teams advance to the State Competition.
Porter-Gaud Team Members: Amanda Billings (8th Grade), Dawn Jensen (8th Grade), Cross Tolliver (8th Grade) & Connor Woods (8th Grade)
Also Competing (individually) from Porter-Gaud: Nikki Bregman (7th Grade), Jesse Chao (7thGrade) & Kevin Woods (7th Grade)
Porter-Gaud placed 2nd in the team competition. Connor Woods placed 2nd in the individual competition. The Porter-Gaud team advances to the MATHCOUNTS State Competition to be held at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC on March 3rd.
