September 15, 2021 -– Porter-Gaud School is pleased to announce that five seniors have been chosen as semifinalists for the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. They are Ellis Chang, Aidan Gregorie, Sophie Levenson, Freeman Martin, and Becca White.
“The entire Porter-Gaud family is proud of these five seniors’ accomplishments. This distinction is a reflection of their commitment to academics, co-curricular activities, and their community. We wish them the best of luck in the finalist selection in the spring,” says Head of School D.DuBose Egleston, Jr.
The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The five seniors are among approximately 16,000 academically talented high school seniors across the nation who will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be offered next spring.
