Kevin Jackson's Elite Soccer and Futsal: (June 12-16 , 9:00AM-3:00PM, Ages 8-14)

Kevin Jackson, State Director for U.S. Youth Futsal and former MLS player with the Chicago Fire and New England Revolution has designed this camp for the serious player looking to improve his/her technique and confidence on the soccer field and futsal court. Along with technical skills and tactical awareness, strength, stamina, acceleration and multi-directional quickness are critical to success. Players will work on game situation drills and formations while learning defending and attacking secrets. They will be improving foot skills, athletic performance, confidence on the ball and their understanding of the overall game. This camp provides a high-intensity training atmosphere to challenge the player to succeed at the most competitive level.

Charleston Soccer Centers: (June 6-9, June 12-16, and June 19-23, 8:30AM-4:00PM or 8:30AM-12:00PM, Ages 6-12)

The Charleston Soccer Centers provides a comprehensive teaching and learning environment for young players through repetition, correct technique and FUN soccer game related exercises. All participants will be challenged and motivated each day by our enthusiastic coaching staff.

Suarez Soccer School: (June 5-9, August 7-11, 9:00AM-3:00PM, Ages 13-18)
This week-long camp is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 18 to enhance all four—technical, tactical, physical and psychological—aspects of the game in a FUN and competitive environment. Players will also benefit from exposure to high-level training. This is an excellent way to prepare for the upcoming season.
Instructed by Temoc Suarez - former professional player, (US Futsal National Team, MLS, UNC All-American, US Olympics and Youth National Teams) and Porter-Gaud's own State Champion Coach Juan Roncancio.
Players are responsible for bringing their own ball and water bottle; and shin guards are required for participation.

Tournament Prep Tennis Camp: (July 5-7, August 14-16, 9:00-1:00pm, Girls and Boys Ages 8-18)

The camp will be targeted at tournament level and pre-tournament level juniors, ranging from ages 8-18 and there will be multiple components involved ranging from technical preparation to the food and nutritional component of tournament prep. Participants will have access to all facilities provided by Porter Gaud. The camps will be divided into 2 components: 1) on court tennis training and, 2) lunch and food/nutritional training. Mitch White will provide the resources of his company Culinary Health Solutions to provide the meals and food/nutritional training which will take place between 12noon-1pm each day. Mitch White and Davy Hairston will be the instructors for the camp. Their history in tennis is highly decorated including playing professionally. State Champion Basketball: (June 5-9, 8:30AM-3:30PM, Ages 12-17)
The Porter-Gaud coaching staff is offering a camp for upcoming and prospective Junior Varsity Basketball players and rising Juniors. Join and enhance your fundamentals, techniques and overall ability. This is a camp that will help you reach the next level. The coaches will work with you individually and in groups. There will be highly competitive games throughout the week that will allow players to sharpen their on-court decision making and productivity. Join us to learn these necessary skills to develop your game and become an asset to your Varsity Team.

Queens of the Court: (June 19-23, 1:30PM-4:30PM, Ages 12-17)
SCISA State Champion Coach John Pearson is offering a week-long Basketball camp for all interested female athletes in the greater Charleston area. During this camp, girls will develop the skills and techniques they need to compete at the Junior Varsity and Varsity level. Individual personalized training as well as organized team exercises will be utilized to bring out the best in our athletes. Come join us for some competitive fun and excitement. Open to all girls ages 12-17 who are interesting in improving their game.

Chuck Driesell Basketball Academy: (July 24-28, 9:00-4:00PM, Ages 7-15) (Half-Day Available 9:00-12:15)
Chuck Driesell - Former Coach at The Citadel, James Madison and the University of Maryland, Lieutenant in the Navy and son of Hall of Famer "Lefty" Driesell!

The goal of Coach Driesell’s camp is to help develop a well-rounded, complete basketball player. This week-long camp is open to both boys and girls interested in improving their game. Our philosophy is to teach the fundamentals of the game along with a proper attitude.

Khris Middleton Skills Academy: (July 13-14, July 15-16, 9:00-4:00PM, Ages 8-17)
Khris Middleton, former Porter-Gaud star and current starter for the Milwaukee Bucks, will host his 5th Annual Khris Middleton Skills Academy at his alma mater, Porter-Gaud School. The two-day basketball camp for girls and boys will focus on basketball fundamentals such as ball handling, passing, teamwork, and shooting. The Academy is for children of all skill levels! Campers will receive lunch, beverages, and prizes from corporate sponsors such as Nike and the Milwaukee Bucks.


State Champion Volleyball: (July 10-12, 9:00-3:00PM, Ages 9-18)
Train with the best, the 7-time defending State Champion PG Volleyball Team. This camp will focus on fundamentals, including more specific position training. Individual training will be integrated into team drills and game-like situations. This camp will be competitive and a great way to get ready for your upcoming volleyball season.

Beach Body Boot Camp: (June 12-16, 12:00-2:00 PM, Ages 13-18)

Summers here! You need to look and feel your best. Don't miss our Camp with former Professional Football Player and Florida Gator Track and Football Star Kile Willett.
Come get shredded before soaking up that Summer Sunshine. Professional Athlete and Trainer Kile Willet is offering his fitness camp for athletes that want to stay in tip top shape all Summer long. Build that beach bod and confidence!

Surf’s Up!:(June 12-16, 9:00 AM-12:00PM, Ages 9-14)
We invite your child to join the 12th annual Porter-Gaud Surf Camp. Student Cyclone surfers will learn about the ocean and the basics of surfing during this 1-week surf camp. First day of camp will be held in a classroom where students will learn all about waves, equipment, surfing lingo, safety, and rules of surfing. The remainder of the week will be spent surfing at Folly Beach 11th street beach access. Campers will learn about the beach, ocean, surf etiquette, and of course surfing. The camp is lead by Marine Science teacher and long time surfer, Gretchen Tate. Additional expert surfers will be helping with the camp. The instructor/student ratio is 1 to 4.

Cheer Camp: (August 7-11, 9:00 – 12:00PM, Middle School Girls) College of Charleston Cheer Squad member Samantha Pairet runs a Cheerleading Camp for all interested Middle School girls. Samantha's structured, passionate, knowledgeable personality is a perfect fit for any girl interested in the sport of Cheerleading. Fundamentals and techniques will be covered in detail. The girls will perform a routine for all families on the last day of camp!
*Pom Poms and T-shirts will be given out as well!

Cyclone Speed Camp: (August 7-11, 9:00 – 11:00PM, Ages 12-18)
Speed is a skill, and technique matters! Learn starts, acceleration mechanics, and drills for improving maximum velocity. Trying to lower your 40-yard dash time for football, improve track times, or get to the ball faster in any sport? Then don't miss out on this incredible opportunity for Middle and High School students. This camp will deliver results that all serious athletes should take advantage of.

Lights, Camera, Dance!: (July 31-August 4, 9:00AM-12:00PM, Ages 6-12)

Lights, Camera, Dance! camp will give your dancing enthusiast a week of choreography, dancing, crafts, dress-up, and the chance to star in their own music video. Dancers will explore various styles of choreography, learn routines, and make new friends. No experience required, just enthusiasm and the desire to shine!

Ready Set Play: (August 7-11, 11:00 – 3:00PM, Ages 5-10)
Did you just have a Jump Start into your new grade and need some exercise and fun? No couch potatoes at this camp! Ready, Set, Play is the ultimate youth games program that starts right after the Jump Start programs end. Soccer, basketball, and kickball are a few sports that will be offered. Unique games such as capture the objects, pin ball, and soccer tag will also be played. Play with Hula-Hoops, Limbo, and learn how to “jump the snake.” Emphasis will be on basic motor skills, teamwork, and FUN! Campers are guaranteed to go home tired each day! Shorts, t-shirts, and athletic shoes are required. An assortment of snacks will be provided at no additional charge.


Academics/ Science and Technology:

Book Brainiacs: (June 5-9, June 12-16 and August 7-11, 9:00 – 12:00PM, Ages 7-11)
Do you love reading? Are you an advanced reader and can't get enough of books? Splash on over to Mrs. Greer's summer reading group at Porter-Gaud for a week long book excursion! Bring sure to bring your sunglasses and beach towel for some reading relaxation. This class is capped at 12 students and you must pass a reading exam in order to attend.

The Breakfast Book Club: (July 31-August 4th, [Section 1: 9:00AM-12:00PM and Section 2: 1:00PM-4:00PM])
In this camp, you will fall in love with books! Not only will you get to work on comprehension and fluency, but you will get to keep the books we read together in camp! It is going to be so much fun! This class will be capped at 8 students and you must take a reading assessment prior to enrolling.
Section 1: Offered to rising 2nd and 3rd grade on or approaching 3rd grade level reading
Section 2: Offered to rising 3rd and 4th grade on or approaching 4th grade level reading.

Bricks 4 Kidz - Space Adventures and A Galaxy Far Away! (July 24-28, 9-12:00PM, Ages 6-10) This camp features over a dozen different motorized models from our Space & Star Wars curriculums! We will learn the basics of space exploration and hone our skills and abilities with the Force. We will use Free Play Legos to work together to create a massive Space Station with an accompanying base on our home planet. We build a variety of motorized models as we take time to create unique LEGO® masterpieces, group projects, and a different STEAM craft or activity each day.
Each day of camp includes themed Robotics models, creative free build and Lego group-play, STEAM-oriented fun, games & activities, arts & craft, snack & drink, and more! We learn, we build, we play…with Lego Bricks.

**All students take home a customized mini-figure (last day of program) & their Arts & Crafts (day of completion). Students do not take home B4K models or kits.

Nature Week with Palmetto Clayground: (July 31-August 4, 9:00AM-12:00PM, Ages 6-12)
Do you love nature as well as art? Join us as we looked to nature to inspire our projects for this fantastic week of camp! Projects will consist of: Investigating the formation of rainbows and creation of a rainbow tie-dyed camp shirts. Painting Robin eggs for a nest project. Exploring the outdoors armed with magnifying glasses in search of examples from the insect world around Porter-Gaud Campus and our Butterfly Garden. Creating a stamp canvas using found materials in nature. This and so much more. Come out this Summer to get creative and inspired by the beauty of our natural world.


ARTScool Mini Summer Workshop: (June 12-13, 10:00AM-2:00 PM, Ages 5-12)
In this 2-day Mini Summer Workshop, your child will make a gift for Father’s Day, along with some other summertime fun crafts and framable art. Children should bring a bag lunch and wear clothes that could stand a little paint!

Spanish Immersion Summer Camp: (July 10-14, July 31- August 4, 12:00PM - 3:00PM, Ages 9-16)
Spend one week this summer with Celeste Joye speaking, laughing, singing, cooking, dancing, and learning new words and expressions. The best way to keep up a foreign language is by practicing it with others who are determined to reach fluency. Immerse yourself in good times and the Spanish language. Our students have the opportunity to encounter the literature, art, and photography of a culture, and to use these experiences to generate language in a creative and improvisational way. The program will be designed around the ability and interest of the students. One year of Spanish required, take one or both weeks!

Summer Snapshot Photography Camp: (July 10-14, July 31- Aug 4, 9:00AM - 12:00PM, Ages 9-16) - (
Celeste Joye teaches all about photography in these comprehensive workshops. Instruction will include the fundamentals, the language, and the history of this powerful medium. A former Parson's Instructor and professional photographer, I will give your child all the basic knowledge to work the camera, such as depth of field, aperture, shutter speed, and composition. Assignments (portraits, documentary photography, landscapes, self portraits) will be given each afternoon for review the next day. Finally, we will move into the "darkroom" (i.e. photoshop) for the last two days. No prior knowledge needed. Students may take one or both weeks!

Super Summer Science: (June 19-23, 9:00-12:00PM, Ages 6-10)
Prepare to be astounded by the fantastic world of Science. The program will educate and captivate on the wonders of the world. This curriculum will be hands on with activities and include a tour of the Science Exhibit downtown.
Summer is a time for lots of fun! So Super Summer Science campers will be exploring and discovering science through many enjoyable activities in this camp. Be ready to cool off when we make snow, go back in history to make fossils, catch fish in a net at the beach, make rainbows in glasses, shoot rockets with Alka Seltzer, erupt volcanoes, and many more activities. Come join Instructors: Robin Rutherford, 4th Grade Science Teacher, and Pam Kizer, for some super science fun and learning!

Youth Digital - Mod Design Camp: (June 12-16, 9:00-4:00PM, Ages 9-16)
Create Your Own Minecraft® mod! In this camp from Youth Digital, kids learn real Java™ programming as they design and code their own Minecraft mod from start to finish. Kids can use all their craziest ideas to create their own blocks, items, mobs, and more to add whatever they can think of into Minecraft! A sword made out of Pizza? How about a mob of marshmallow minions? Make it all happen in Mod Design Camp.

Youth Digital- App Design Camp: (July 24-28, 9:00-4:00PM, Ages 9-16)
Kids build their own mobile app! In this camp from Youth Digital, kids learn foundational mobile app development skills, design and program their own mobile game. Participants will complete a mobile game from start to finish, including choosing characters, level design, and programming the app’s functionality! Kids learn the same App Design concepts the pros use, including if-then statements, variables, debugging and troubleshooting to make their own mobile app!


Porter-Gaud Camps:

Jump Start to First Grade: (August 7-11, 9:00 – 11:00AM, Rising Grade 1)
Put on your detective hats and come join the fun! Rising first graders will become detectives for a week. Using their observation skills, students will discover the “mysteries” of Porter-Gaud. Students will discover the Porter-Gaud campus such as the Lower School playground, the cafeteria, the first grade building, the auditorium, the fine arts building, and much more.

Jump Start to Second Grade: (August 7-11, 9:00 – 11:00AM, Rising Grade 2)
Ready! Set! Jump into second grade with Mrs. Dixon. Get a jump start to your second grade year at Porter-Gaud. We will spend five days exploring what life will be like as a second grader. Jump Start will include reading and math skills, writing, and a lot of fun! Leap with both feet and get an early start to your year in second grade.

Jump Start to Third Grade: (August 7-11, 9:00 – 11:00AM, Rising Grade 3)
Get all geared up for the Third Grade and another great year at Porter-Gaud with Mrs. Natanya Miller. In this week-long camp rising 3rd grade students will have the opportunity for an advantageous start to school their year. Students will get organized with all of the classroom materials they need, be familiarized with curriculum, meet and play with fellow classmates, and get acclimated to what the life of a Porter-Gaud Third Grader is like before the school year begins. Don’t hesitate to sign up and give your child that edge he/she needs to succeed.

Jump Start to Fourth Grade: (August 7-11, 9:00 – 11:00AM, Rising Grade 4)
Are you ready for your final year at the Porter-Gaud Lower School? Come join your future classmates and Mrs. Leah Howard to get a leading edge on your year in the fourth grade. The jump from third to fourth can be challenging in terms of workload and curriculum. This camp is the best way to prepare you child(s) for this transition. Throughout the week students will work together and with Mrs. Howard to get organized and excited for what their last year in the Lower School holds. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to lay down the foundation for prosperous academic year.
