Parent Special Events
Porter-Gaud hosts a number of events for our parent community that are designed to help you with the issues that face parents in the 21st Century. We hope you will participate in these wonderful presentations as we work together to enhance the lives of our students.
FEATURED EVENT: Jessica Lahey on Jan. 30-31
We are very excited to welcome Jessica Lahey to Porter-Gaud on January 30-31, 2018, to present The Gift of Failure to parents, students, and faculty. Lahey is a teacher and New York Times best-selling author of The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed. In addition to writing this book, she writes the bi-weekly 'Parent-Teacher Conference' advice column for the New York Times and is a regular contributor to The Atlantic.
Our goal is that you will leave with ideas that affirm what you already know as well as learn new strategies that will help you nurture your children in positive ways.
RSVP HERE for the Jan. 30th Jessica Lahey event!
Additional parenting discussion opportunities: Our Parent Connection will host a coffee & Lahey pre-discussion titled What are the Key Challenges to Parenting in 2018? on Thursday, Jan. 25th at 8:00 a.m. in the MS Library.
