  • Beach Sweep is tomorrow! Meet on the Isle of Palms at the First United Methodist Church which is on 21st Avenue at 9:30am. Your parents should pick you up at 11:30 in the same location. Get a permission slip from Mrs. Flynn or Mrs Clair.
  • If you received an email invitation for Quarter 1 service recognition, please remember to meet at 12:20 in the middle school boardroom (by the teacher workroom in S&T)! Students who performed at least 4 hours of service in Quarter 1 were emailed earlier this week.
  • YIG please meet in Ms. Copenhaver's room during study hall today!
  • Are you a 5th or 6th grade boy who wants to do some serious coding? Well, you're in luck! TODAY we are starting a Code Club for 5th and 6th grade boys. We will meet every Friday during recess in the middle school computer lab. No special experience level is required, just a "want-to" for making some cool stuff with code! See Mr. Irving if you have any questions.
  • $2 Dress Down Day has been rescheduled for Monday, October 22nd!
  • The middle school security code is changing today at 9:00 a.m. Advisors will give students the new code during homeroom.

We will have a musical theatre workshop in the auditorium after school on Thursday, October 18th from 3:30-4:30. It is free and led by PG alum and Broadway star Matt Shingledecker. Matt is currently in the National Touring cast of Les Miserables. All are welcome!!!!

Sophomores: Mrs. Hubbard will be coming into your block study hall next week. Please plan to spend about half of your Wednesday or Thursday study hall block with her in your classroom. If you are not in a study hall, please check your e-mail on Monday for instructions about what to do so you don't miss the information.

Model United Nations will have an interest meeting during Community on Friday, 19 October, in Dr. Westerman's room (US224). We will disclose what countries we will represent at our annual conference and discuss future meetings to prepare.

  • There will be an Upper School Only Wrist Band that will be available for sale on the 24th and the day of the Carnival. It will allow US students to do the Cake Walk and the Virtual Haunted House. Students can purchase it with Cash or Credit.

We are delighted to announce that the next Girls In Luncheon on Thursday, October 25th in the Upper School Library will spotlight "Young Alumnae in Medicine". Preetha Hebbar '10 and Merritt Headden '14 will join us and share their experiences both in the study of medicine and their work in the medical field. Come learn more about the a career in medicine from Porter-Gaud graduates. Be sure to RSVP using the Google Form that you received by email and include any dietary restrictions. Food catered by Jason's Deli. Email Mrs. Adelson with questions or to RSVP if you did not receive the Google Form.
