Scholarships at Porter-Gaud for Grades 6-11

Porter-Gaud offers a variety of scholarships to help defer the cost of tuition. Please contact a member of our admission team to find out if one of our scholarship programs can help make a Porter-Gaud education a reality for your family.

Timeline for Scholarship Applicants:

February 1, 2018: Financial Aid Applications Due (Scholarship Applicants must have Completed Financial Aid Application on File)

February 26, 2018: Porter-Gaud Application and Malone Scholarship Application Due

Monday, March 5, 2018 3:30-5:00 p.m.: Scholarship Interviews


Tuesday, March 6, 2018 3:30-5:00 p.m.

March 9, 2018: Family Notification (Accept, Financial Aid Award, Scholarship Award)

Krawcheck Scholarship

The Krawcheck Scholarship, created by Porter-Gaud Alumna Sallie Krawcheck '83, is a program that provides full scholarships and summer enrichment opportunities to students in need that have maintained high academic standing for students applying grades 6-11.

Applicants for the Krawcheck Scholars Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Rank in the top 5% of their class
  • Outstanding standardized test scores
  • Show evidence of enthusiasm for and motivation toward maximizing his/her educational opportunities
  • Demonstrate financial need to qualify for funding of at least 30% of tuition through Porter-Gaud’s need-based financial aid qualifying process

Malone Scholarship

Malone Scholars Program

Porter-Gaud School is one of seven schools nationwide to be honored with an endowment from the Colorado-based Malone Family Foundation in 2011. Established with an initial $2 million grant, the Malone Scholar Endowment Fund significantly increases Porter-Gaud’s ability to offer scholarships and school-related expenses to exceptionally motivated and capable students with financial need in grades 7 through 11. Porter-Gaud School is the only school in South Carolina to receive this prestigious award.

Applicants for the Malone Scholars Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Rank in the top 5% of their class
  • Outstanding standardized test scores
  • Show evidence of enthusiasm for and motivation toward maximizing his/her educational opportunities
  • Demonstrate financial need to qualify for funding of at least 30% of tuition through Porter-Gaud’s need-based financial aid qualifying process

Porter-Gaud Alumni Scholarship

Porter-Gaud Alumni Association Scholarship Program

This scholarship was created to recognize and support worthy students who are related to an alumnus or alumnae of Porter Military Academy, The Gaud School or Porter-Gaud School. Proceeds from the PGAA Annual Golf Tournament and other fundraisers provide scholarships each year.

Post and Courier Scholarship

Porter-Gaud School is currently accepting applications for the Post and Courier Scholarship for students applying for grades 6-11. Candidates enter our process via the nominee’s completion of the Post and Courier Scholarship application. The deadline for all applications will be February 26, 2018. Once Porter-Gaud has received the applications, a team of readers will render initial assessments and make recommendations to the selection staff on which nominees will be invited to an on-campus interview.
