Learning continues even after the school day ends. Our auxiliary programs provide our Lower and Middle School students the opportunities to continue that learning in subject areas they love.  We have programs in sports, music, academics and so much more.

Mondays + Wednesdays

The following programs will run on the following Mondays & Wednesdays: 4/27, 4/29, 5/4, 5/6, 5/11, 5/13 
GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL will begin a week earlier, and run on the following Mondays & Wednesdays: 4/20, 4/22, 4/27, 4/29, 5/5, 5/7

 

Beginner Tennis with Coach Brown (1st-2nd grade)
3:00pm - 4:30pm

Join Coach Brown for a beginner's tennis program! This is a great way to take your first swing at tennis! These lessons will be tailored for players looking to build their racket skills. Players will learn tennis skills with interactive games, fun drills, and activities. Rackets will be supplied, but if you have one, please bring it!

The Knight School (1st-5th grade)
3:15pm - 4:45pm

The Knight School is coming to Porter-Gaud! The Knight School’s secret is “the chess party.” We invite everyone to join our chess team. We use high-energy teaching methods such as super-fast, clock-slapping chess games, zany chess videos, a strict bully-free environment, silicone wristbands for tactics mastery, driving music, hilarious videos, and Mardi-Gras bead chess tournaments each practice. Chess set, city-wide tournaparty, and more included! Have fun playing the most popular sport in America right now - pickleball! Whether you are just learning or honing your skills, this will be a great chance to release some pent-up energy after a long day of school!

Girls Flag Football (4th-7th grade)
3:15pm - 4:45pm

Led by Matt Neighbors, this Girls Flag Football Enrichment Program is all about having fun, staying active, and enjoying the game with friends! Open to girls in grades 4–7, each session features exciting games, friendly competition, and team-based challenges in a positive, energetic environment. Players will build confidence, make new friends, and experience the thrill of the game.Come ready to run, laugh, and have a great time on the field!

Five Strong (7th-8th grade boys)
3:15pm - 4:45pm
**Please note this program will only have FOUR sessions: 4/27, 4/29, 5/4, 5/6

Five Strong is a basketball program for 7th and 8th grade boys, led by PG Boys Head Basketball Coach JP. This four-session program focuses on developing key fundamentals such as ball handling, shooting, and defensive skills in a competitive, high-energy environment. Players will benefit from individualized instruction and game-based learning to build confidence and improve performance. Registration includes all four sessions and a program t-shirt.

Soccer Shots (1st-4th grade)
3:00pm - 4:30pm

Soccer Shots provides a high-quality, age-appropriate soccer program designed to inspire kids and build confidence.

Our nationally recognized curriculum focuses on skill development, teamwork, and character-building — all taught by trained, background-checked coaches who LOVE working with children.

Through creative games, skill-building activities, and our signature character words, your child will learn:

  • Fundamental soccer skills
  • Teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Confidence and coordination
  • Listening skills and following directions

LS Baseball (1st-4th grade)

Lower School Baseball with Coach Zac and Coach Andrew is designed for players of all skill levels who want to learn, compete, and have fun while improving their game. Participants will work on core baseball skills through engaging drills and games, including infield and outfield fungos, on-field batting practice, wiffle ball games, and more.

Ocean Explorers (1st-4th)
3:00pm - 4:30pm

Dive into adventure with Ocean Explorers! In this hands-on class led by Mrs. Tabitha and Ms. Dorito, students will discover the wonders of the ocean through exciting science experiments, creative crafts, and interactive activities. Each week, young explorers will learn about different ocean habitats and the amazing plants and animals that live beneath the waves, from colorful coral reefs and tide pools to mysterious deep-sea creatures.

Students will create ocean-inspired art, build models of marine ecosystems, and conduct fun experiments that explore topics like waves, currents, buoyancy, and water chemistry. Along the way, they’ll also learn about marine conservation and how we can help protect our oceans and the creatures that call them home.

LEGO Club (1st-5th grade)

Your child’s imagination will run wild at LEGO Club!  Each week we will have a different themed Lego build challenge.  Students will use fine motor skills and creativity in this STEAM focused program.

Tennis101 (3rd-4th grade)
3:00pm - 4:30pm

Tennis101 is an advanced-beginner course designed for players that would like to advance their skills and technique. Instruction will center around the preparation, balance and commitment that it takes to be an efficient tennis player. Students will learn to develop their overall tennis game. This course will be for those that will stay focused and have already developed a tennis game at the beginner level.

Coach Evan’s Futures Co-Ed Basketball Clinic (4th-7th grade)
3:15pm - 4:45pm

Led by Porter Gaud’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach Chris Evans, this co-ed program is designed to help young athletes build a strong foundation in the game of basketball. This engaging, skill-focused program emphasizes fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive techniques, while also promoting teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Open to players of all experience levels, this clinic provides a fun and supportive environment where campers can grow their skills and love for the game.

The following program will run on the following Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm: 03/10, 03/12, 03/17, 03/19, 03/24, 03/26, 03/31, 04/14, 04/16, 04/21, 04/23, 04/28, 04/30, 05/05, 05/07, 5/12, 5/14
**Please note this program will NOT meet on the Thursday before Spring Break (04/02), AS WELL AS during the week of Spring Break (04/07 + 04/09).
**5/5 & 5/7 sessions have been RESCHEDULED to 5/12 & 5/14, in order to accomodate the 5th & 7th grade class trips.

 

MS Girls Volleyball (5th-8th grade):

Bump, set, spike! The MS Volleyball enrichment program provides girls in grades 5-8 the opportunity to grow their skills and confidence on the court. Meeting from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 10th to May 7th, this program will help players develop essential volleyball skills, including passing, setting, serving, hitting, serve receive, and more. Each session will blend skill work, game awareness, teamwork, and plenty of active play. Whether you're new to the sport or looking to sharpen your abilities, this enrichment offers a supportive and exciting environment for every athlete!

LS Fencing last session will be on Monday, 4/20.

LS Fencing (1st-4th grade):
3:00pm - 4:15 pm

Porter-Gaud is thrilled to present the opportunity for your child to learn the art of fencing by fencing professionals! The elite sport of fencing incorporates agility, strength, coordination, balance, and timing. In this beginners fencing course, students will increase physical ability and gain a strong mental edge. The competitors of a fencing match wear protective gear and handle swords which will be fully provided for students to use each session.

Intermediate Boys Lacrosse (1st-2nd grade):
3:00pm - 4:15 pm

***Full pads required:  Helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, stick and cleats

Join Porter Gaud’s offensive coordinator, John Austen, for this intermediate lacrosse program for 1st and 2nd graders. This program is designed to prepare players for live competitive play, and is designed for those with prior lacrosse experience.  Players will not only learn the fundamentals, but they will learn what it takes to be a successful team: offensive and defensive formations, proper subbing procedure's, the role of each position on the field, and more!

This program is designed to prepare players for live competitive play, and is designed for those with prior lacrosse experience.  Players will not only learn the fundamentals, but they will learn what it takes to be a successful team: offensive and defensive formations, proper subbing procedure's, the role of each position on the field, and more!
