Learning continues even after the school day ends. Our auxiliary programs provide our Lower and Middle School students the opportunities to continue that learning in subject areas they love.  We have programs in sports, music, academics and so much more.

Fall Enrichment SESSION II 2025

Fall Enrichment Session II 2025 will begin the week of November 10th and will be held twice a week for three weeks, concluding the week of December 1st for 9 total sessions.  Programs will be from 3:00-4:30pm or 3:15-4:45pm on Mondays + Wednesdays or Tuesdays + Thursdays.  You can view our offerings below, registration goes live Monday, October 27th at 6pm!

Mondays & Wednesdays

The following programs will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30 pm, the weeks of 11/10, 11/17, and 12/01:

Soccer Shots (1st-4th grade): 

Soccer Shots is an engaging youth soccer program that focuses on character development through the game of soccer. In each session, children learn a new soccer skill while being introduced to a key character word, such as respect, determination, or teamwork. Our goal is to positively impact the youth of Charleston by being role models and promoting active, healthy lifestyles. Along with soccer, we emphasize physical development by working on agility, balance, and coordination. Jerseys included!

Nature's Palette with Ms. Penelope (1st-4th grade): 

Nature’s Palette invites young artists to explore the world around them through creativity and imagination! Students will collect, observe, and create using natural materials— turning leaves, flowers, stones, and other outdoor treasures into beautiful works of art. Each session combines hands-on exploration with art making that celebrates color, texture, and the beauty of nature. Perfect for students who love to explore and who love to create!

Coach Brown's Youth Tennis (2nd-4th grade): 

Tennis is a life long sport that should begin at a young age. Coach Brown's Tennis is designed to introduce the game of tennis in a format that is fun, exciting and educational. Students will focus on developing their balance, agility, awareness and of course their tennis technique. This is the best course for those that would like to have an introduction to Tennis that will leave them wanting more!

Girls Run The World (1st-6th grade) *** 3:15-4:30pm, 8 total sessions

Gretchen Tate and Ragan Wood return for another chapter of Girls Run the World! This program is designed for grades 1-6 with a focus on developing confidence, character and compassion, all while being active throughout the PG campus. Girls will meet each day outside the cafeteria and begin with a warm-up, a short lesson and conclude with an exercise activity.

Girls Run the World is more than just running. Throughout the season the girls will make new friends, build confidence and appreciate what makes them unique. For more information about this program please email Gretchen at gtate@portergaud.edu.

Holiday Digital Design w/ Bloxels (2nd-6th grade): *** 3:15-4:45pm

The Holiday Digital Design Afterschool Program for grades 2-6 brings seasonal creativity to life using Book Creator and hands-on product design. This program can be for any holiday or celebration for any time of the year. Students will learn to take and edit photos, design holiday-themed page layouts, and apply digital design techniques to capture the spirit of their holiday. Using Book Creator, they'll craft interactive holiday books filled with their own stories and images, developing both technical and creative skills. In addition to their digital book, each student will personalize a tote bag or mug with their own holiday-inspired artwork. By the end of the program, students will have a unique digital book and a custom-designed tote bag or mug to share with friends and family. This festive, hands-on experience builds digital skills, fosters creativity, and empowers students to express their holiday spirit through both digital and real-world design projects.

Fencing (2nd-6th grade): *** 3:15-4:45pm

Porter-Gaud is thrilled to present the opportunity for your child to learn the art of fencing by fencing professionals! The elite sport of fencing incorporates agility, strength, coordination, balance, and timing. In this beginners fencing course, students will increase physical ability and gain a strong mental edge. The competitors of a fencing match wear protective gear and handle swords which will be fully provided for students to use each session.

Tuesdays & Thursdays

The following programs will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:30 pm, the weeks of 11/10, 11/17, and 12/01: 

The Creative Kids Club w/ Ms Boechel + Sharrer (1st-2nd grade): 

Do you have a first or second grader who loves to draw, build, and make a mess (the fun kind!)? Then the Creative Kids Club is the perfect afterschool destination! This club is designed for young artists who want to explore their imagination through fun, hands-on activities. We'll use a mix of materials—from paint, beads, boondoggle/gimp—to bring our creative ideas to life!

Every week/class, we'll dive into a different themed project, focusing on the process of making art, not just the finished product. Your child will have a blast while developing important skills:

          - Fine Motor Skills: Cutting, gluing, tearing, and shaping small objects.

          - Creative Problem Solving: Figuring out how to use materials in new and unexpected ways.

          - Following Directions: Learning to work through a multi-step project from start to finish.

Projects will include making mosaic masterpieces, creating galaxy jars, painting, drawing, and more! Get ready for a fridge full of fantastic new artwork!

Toy Makers w/ Ms Dorito(1st-3rd grade): 

Get ready to invent, build, and play! In this fun-filled science and engineering class, Mr. Dorito and Mrs. Tabitha will guide young creators through the exciting world of toy invention. Each session, we’ll dream up and design toys, and then build them using real engineering and creative thinking skills!

We’ll explore the engineering process in a hands-on, super playful way— testing, tinkering, and improving our creations until they’re just right. The best part? You’ll get to take your toys home and show off your amazing inventions!

You can even turn your creations into special gifts—perfect for the holidays or a friend’s birthday! It’s a fun way to share something you made yourself. Who knows... maybe you’ll create the next big thing in the toy world!

Bricks 4 Kidz: Jurassic Brick Land (1st-4th grade): 

Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? put on your hiking boots and camouflage... you're about to enter Jurassic Brick Land! Students will build a world that comes to life with gentle Brontosaurus, ferocious Velociraptors, terrifying T. Rex, and more. We'll learn about amazing dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic period, and other extinct, prehistoric animals that roamed the earth and swam the seas during that era and millions of years later. Show us your building skills using our specialized project kits! Come learn, build and play at Jurassic Brick Land class!

Flag Football with Coach Brown (2nd-4th grade): 

Ready, set, hike! In this fun and inclusive camp students will have an opportunity to learn and play flag-football! Each lesson will consist of skill work, agility and speed training, football fundamentals, and game-play! Students will develop key skills to become great football players and teammates! (cleats and active clothes are recommended)!

Minecraft Club (2nd-6th grade): *** 3:15-4:45pm

Dive into the magical land of Minecraft where your students will become master builders! Together, they'll craft cool 3D worlds and show off their awesome designs. For those who are more advanced, there's even a chance to play around with Command Blocks and block coding found in the Minecraft Education Edition.

How to play? Choose your style! Whether it's on a Windows PC using a keyboard & mouse, rocking an Xbox controller, or tapping away on a touchscreen tablet, the adventure is at your fingertips.

At each club meeting, our fun-filled sessions include Minecraft building contests, where teams can dream up and design their very own worlds. But wait, there's more! We feature cool games like Star Wars Hide and Seek and the thrilling Bed Wars. Join us, and not only will you have a blast, but you'll also learn awesome skills like teaming up, thinking creatively, and problem-solving. Ready to build, play, and learn? Let's go!

*** Please note that Minecraft Club will not meet on Thursday 12/04, but will make up this last session on Tuesday 12/09.
