PORTER-GAUD ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
PEOPLE OF PORTER
As a way to showcase our alumni who are following their passions in unique fields, we will begin our “People of Porter: A Day in the Life” series on the second Tuesday of every month beginning in February. Be on the lookout in January for some teasers for the new exciting series. We are working on the first two stories, and we are so excited to share them with you. The first release will feature Broadway performer Matt Shingledecker '04. We caught up with Matt in Charlotte, NC, as he travels the country in Les Misérables! Click the image Episode 1!
CYCLONE Career day(s)
On March 4 and 18, every Junior will participate in a career day. We are hoping to fill 6-8 presenters each day. We would like to have a broad range of fields, expertise, and age. Each presentation will last 30 minutes and will be with a small group of students who have elected to hear from someone in your field of work. If you are interested in giving an overview of your job and advice to our juniors, contact Hutson Dodds at email@example.com. One of the greatest benefits of a Porter-Gaud diploma is the network it provides. This is a way you can give back and potentially change a life!
ALumni WeEkend 2020
We have another fantastic weekend lined up for you! During the culminating event of our Alumni Weekend last year, we had a fantastic party on the green with over 200 alumni! The event featured live music, top-shelf liquor, local beer, and 5 local restaurants (The Darling Oyster Bar, Vincent Chicco's, Magnolia, Blossom, and Lewis BBQ.) Under the large tent, each restaurant set up a station with 2 small bites for everyone to try. This year will feature live music, local restaurants, and specialty cocktails as we "Taste the World" together! In addition to the All-Alumni Party, there are excursions for you to participate in.
