PORTER-GAUD ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
BLIND TIGER DROP-IN
The PGAA hosted our second annual Holiday Drop-In at the Blind Tiger Pub. Alumni from the 1980’s to 2014 were represented. We collected many toys and over $200 towards Toys for Tots. This event grew from last year, and we hope to see it continue to grow in the future!
CYCLONE vs CYCLONE
On January 18, we have a very special basketball event lined up for you. Vanderbilt hosts Tennessee in Nashville. This is an epic showdown of Vandy's forward Aaron Nesmith ’18, who was recently added to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s initial watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, and Tennessee's Josiah-Jordan James ’19, the number 1 recruit out of South Carolina last year. These two will face each other for the first time since winning the state championship together in 2018. We have 25 tickets to the game. They are $25 per ticket. You will be limited to 4 tickets, and are welcome to bring family or a friend. Because of the interest I have received and the sell-out last year for the Bucks game tickets will be on sale Wednesday, December 18, at 3:00 PM (EST). Click here to buy tickets (SOLD OUT!) Prior to the game, we will host a reception at The Waverly Nashville Rooftop.
PEOPLE OF PORTER
As a way to showcase our alumni who are following their passions in unique fields, we will begin our “People of Porter: A Day in the Life” series on the second Tuesday of every month beginning in February. Be on the lookout in January for some teasers for the new exciting series. We are working on the first two stories, and we are so excited to share them with you. The first release will feature Broadway performer Matt Shingledecker '04. We caught up with Matt in Charlotte, NC, as he travels the country in Les Misérables! Stay tuned!
