EPISODE 3 – BIRDS and BLUEGRASS

Stephen Schabel '92 has devoted his life to educating the public about birds of prey. Through his work as the Director of Education at the Center for Birds of Prey in Awendaw, SC, Stephen hopes people will come to appreciate these birds and the important role they play in our ecosystem.

Beyond birds, he has a passion for Bluegrass music and performs around the Lowcountry with his mandolin and microphone. All of his passions are rooted in the experiences he had at Porter-Gaud. Whether it was the ornithology club in science class or his participation in choirs, this Cyclone has turned his experiences into a unique and successful career.

EPISODE 2 – Friends and rivals

Aaron Nesmith ’18 and Josiah-Jordan James ’19 led Porter-Gaud to three state basketball championships in a row. Nesmith, who was leading the SEC in scoring as a sophomore, and James, the freshman starting point guard for Tennessee, had their first college matchup circled on the calendar for months. Sidelined by injury, Nesmith had to watch as James and the Volunteers beat the Commodores at home.
