Highlights from the Week

Here's a recap of how our teams performed and what's coming up: 

• Sailing - Team members Harrison Ward and Patrick Moore sailed last weekend at the Cressy Qualifier. They finished 12th (Harrison) and 13th (Patrick) out of 35. They both did great and represented PG well! 
• Cross Country - The team is busy preparing to compete in the First Baptist Hurricane 5K on Saturday! 
• Varsity Girls Tennis - The team finished their regular season today celebrating their five seniors before their final match vs. First Baptist. The SCISA Tennis Playoffs begin next Monday, and brackets will be released tomorrow! 
• Varsity Football - Last week, our varsity football team beat John Paul II 47-0! And tomorrow night, is our Homecoming game vs. Heathwood Hall! Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
• Swim - On Tuesday, we celebrated our six senior swimmers prior to the meet vs. Pinewood. Both the boys and girls teams won their last regular season meet and await the SCISA State Championship taking place on Saturday, October 10.
• Volleyball - The Cyclones swept the SCISA competition this week, beating Ashley Hall and Pinewood 3-0. They compete tonight vs. Charleston Collegiate at home at 6 p.m.
• Golf - Last Thursday, our golfers competed in the inaugural region golf match and came out victorious as Region Champs! The team hits the road on Sunday for the SCISA Championship in Orangeburg for a two-day tournament.

World Food Day Drive

Let’s tackle hunger together! In support of World Food Day, we are gathering non-perishable food donations for Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach. Look for collection bins at Friday night’s varsity football game and in the Wendell Center. Bring a few extra pantry items to the game or drop-off—your support directly helps our Charleston neighbors!

Special Homecoming Menu at the Concession Stand

Starting at 7 p.m., the PGPA will offer a special menu featuring ribs with Bessinger's BBQ sauce, cornbread, and side dishes alongside the standard grill menu. Pelican's Ice and PGPA spirit merchandise will also be available for purchase.

Winter Athletics Registration

• Middle School: If your Middle School student is interested in playing a winter sport, please review the information here, complete the sign-up form, and ensure all required eligibility documents are submitted by Friday, October 16.
• Upper School: If your Upper School student is interested in playing a winter sport, please review the information here, reach out to the program coach, and ensure all required eligibility documents are submitted by Friday, October 16.

Ticketing

• Athletic Tickets: We use HUDL’s online ticketing system for home athletic events where we collect an admission fee. All Porter-Gaud students and faculty members are admitted to athletic events free of charge and do not need to reserve advance tickets. All other visitors may purchase tickets in advance, scan a QR code at the gate, or pay cash. 
• Season Tickets: Porter-Gaud also offers a season pass, which gives you up to four tickets to every home sporting event. Click here to learn more and purchase season tickets. Unfortunately, these passes do not work for playoff games, and everyone must purchase a ticket for these events.
